Prevention and avoidance measures for crane hook rotation

In the actual work, the following measures can be taken to improve the stability of the hook to reduce the possibility of the lifting hook rotating:

(1) When using a lifting hook with multiple pulleys, use the outer pulley as much as possible with the pulley on the boom;

(2) When there are multiple hooks in the crane, the diameter of the pulley should be as large as possible;

(3) Try to use a double number of wire ropes as much as possible; use as many pieces as possible to reduce the force of a single piece;

(4) When winding the wire rope, do not stagger too much between the pulley of the boom top section and the pulley of the lifting hook, and reduce the horizontal rotation force generated by the wire rope on the hook when the hook is lifted;

(5) During the hoisting process, reduce the length of the wire rope between the boom top and the hook block as much as possible, for example, using a larger span;

(6) When lifting, use the rope to make the object to be controlled. If the lifting height is relatively high, and the hook block does not need to be rotated when it is in place, the hook can be locked;

(7) When lifting, the driver's operation should be smooth, and the lifting hook and turning motion should not be performed at the same time;

(8) When purchasing the wire rope, if other conditions are satisfied, try to select the “no rotation” wire rope;

(9) After the rope of the crane is used for a period of time, it is necessary to re-wrap or untie the fixed end to release the torque in the rope.
